What is the bandwidth requirement per camera or per site?

The required bandwidth varies based on the camera manufacturer and the desired video quality. Some cameras may deliver sufficient detail at a rate as low as 100 Kbits/sec, while in different scenarios, even 2 Mbits/sec might fall short. As a general guideline, we typically suggest a minimum of 700 Kbit/sec for smooth full HD streaming, although this figure heavily relies on factors such as the camera manufacturer, codec selections, and the intended video quality. For certain applications, such as basic surveillance, as little as 50 Kbit/sec might be adequate. However, for advanced functions like facial recognition or license plate reading, a higher bandwidth becomes essential.
